Greenwich Park En Plein Air Exhibiton

Greenwich Park En Plein Air Exhibiton

🗓️ 16 January - 1 February 2026 / Open Friday-Sunday (10am-5pm), or by appointment.

🥂 Private view: Friday 16th January, 6-8pm - RSVP if you would like to join us.

🗺️ Gallery White Box, 5 Hare and Billet Rd, Blackheath, London, SE3 0RB.

Ten artists based in Blackheath, Greenwich, and the South London area - mostly members of the Blackheath Art Society - will show a selection of paintings portraying the landmarks, the nature, the beauty of Greenwich Park.

The works were all created during the group’s “En plein air” sessions, when the artists sketch outdoors on location, alone or in a group. Some pieces are the actual sketches from those sessions, while others are paintings based on initial sketches in charcoal, watercolour, or oil on small canvases.

Each is a one-of-a-kind original, and the show offers a special opportunity for those wishing to place an original Greenwich Park landscape from a local artist in their collection.

The show features artists who have exhibited before at Gallery White Box - Kathleen Taylor, Alexandra Helm, and Shelagh Vida - as well as others connected to the “En plein air” group: Alexandra Santos, Sarah Veitch, Amber Khokhar, Edythe Peters, Mary Griffiths, Richard Lord, Margaret Dinkeldein, and Sarah Shaw.

"The Waves" Solo Exhibition at Stanley Arts Centre

This art exhibition is a story by artist Sarah E Shaw about two planets: Earth and Venus - so alike in their geological make-up that they were once called sister planets.

The Waves explores how we came to understand our planetary neighbour and presents the perspectives of these two sisters through quotes from Virginia Woolf’s 1931 novel of the same title.

This exhibition will showcase Sarah’s recent experiments with alternative photographic techniques as well as new paintings and drawings which invite you to experience the delicate balance between beauty and sustainability, where every material and process has its own story.

Suitable for all ages.

Evening Event:

Tuesday 24th September 5 - 8pm

The Drowned World is based upon JG Ballard’s 1960s ‘fictional’ treatise on the outcomes of our destruction releasing the untampered wild force of nature which overtakes Central London, flooding our city with the detritus of our urban culture and yet still not stemming our unrelenting greed and hubris.

Group exhibition showcasing artists who capture love from different angles. The love of life, of self, of nature, places and people, among other subjects that matter to them. Or those who simply create intuitively by drawing from a feeling, from their heart energy.
